Colourful Box Hub Glasgow Wedding
Ooft, Amy + Sophie’s Box Hub Glasgow wedding was a belter! Their day was nothing short of outrageous, filled with love, laughter, and an added layer of excitement thanks to the Indy Ref march happening right outside the City Chambers as they got hitched. Originally, Amy had fancied the idea of eloping, but they decided instead to have a big, colourful celebration—and what a celebration it was.
The day started just round from their ceremony location. It was a super chilled morning as they got ready together, Amy even got to make time for the footy ;) It was a short walk round the corner once they were ready to meet their guests and get hitched at the stunning Glasgow City Chambers. Despite the huge numbers of folk on George Square for the march, the ceremony went off without a hitch – couldn’t hear the crowds at all! The guests were asked to ‘wear floral’ and the theme was a total hit. Everyone went all out and looked so vibrant, it was brilliant.
After the ceremony, we adventured around the City Chambers with the newlyweds before jumping back to their accommodation so they could share a pastry and a Dr Pepper – obvs :D before getting a taxi to meet up with their guests again. Perfect! Top tip right there: make time in your day to escape just the two of you (with or without your photographer). The day flies by and it’s nice to have a wee minute to go ‘wtaf’ together :D
Next stop: Box Hub Glasgow. Such a cool space, it was the perfect setting for the joy-filled party that followed. With its industrial vibe, Box Hub provided a fantastic backdrop for the evening’s festivities. The divine and outrageous Bonnie Banks hosted the event, what an unmatched QUEEN. Can we have Bonnie Banks at all the weddings we photograph?! Box Hub will be opening a new venue soon – Box Hub / Bridge Gardens and we cannot wait to photograph a wedding there, looks amazing!
The newlyweds wanted a laidback, relaxed day, and while it was definitely that… it was also one HELLUVA party. The dance floor was packed from the moment the music started, and our step count went through the roof from all the dancing and moving around. Our feet might have been in tatters by the end of the night, but it was all worth it to capture all the joy!
Here’s what Amy + Sophie had to say about having us as their photographers!
“When picking wedding photographers we wanted to make sure we had someone that would fit in with a relaxed day while truly being an LGBTQ+ friendly supplier. Jo + Liam ticked all the boxes and then some.
From the pre wedding catch ups to the wedding day itself, they truly went above and beyond all our expectations and were such an incredible part of our wedding experience. They had excellent chat, made us feel so at ease and captured our day perfectly.
Our family and friends haven’t shut up about how great they were and they just felt like any other guest.
I could not recommend them enough!!”
Och, cheers pals! <3

Why Choose Glasgow City Chambers and/or Box Hub Glasgow for your Wedding?
Getting hitched at Glasgow City Chambers offers a pretty sweet blend of historical grandeur and intimate charm. The incredible architecture is a stunning backdrop for wedding photos, and the central location makes it easy to explore the city’s iconic landmarks. Box Hub is a cool, industrial, laidback space with great light and a fantastic layout. The type of venue that is the perfect blank canvas – it’d look great with added decor but also stands on it’s own two feet as is. Box Hub are currently expanding their venue to include Bridge Gardens, and my goodness do we want to photograph a wedding there- it looks amazing! Check it out for yourself here.
