“AW MA LAWD! Looking at the photographs of our Ardanaiseig elopement was like reliving the story of our day all over again. Thank you turning our day into art my darlin'”
Kate and David’s beautiful Ardanaiseig elopement – what a beaut adventure. Travelling from Las Vegas for their dream romantic do in the Highlands surrounded by their nearest and dearest, with the added bonus of bringing Kate’s 86 year old Dad back to his home country – too good to be true.
Finding Ardanaiseig was a real turning point for the happy couple, and in their words “the surrounding nature was stunning and so tranquil, that you couldn’t help but want to wander and explore. The hotel itself was romantic and secluded; while the interior felt like it was out of a classic fairytale.”
Liam and I even agreed to take on the responsibility of transporting their beautifully simple Little Cake Parlour cake – Lisa (heed baker and owner!) gifted us some mega-delicious cupcakes as a thank you, yasss! Can we all just take a moment to enjoy the stress Liam and I endured by transporting the wedding cake for the 2.5 hour journey please? Haha!
On arrival our first sight was Kate’s Dad, having a beautifully quiet moment in the bar – one of those ‘get a camera now’ moments that we are so happy to have caught.
Kate decided to create her own bouquet (eh, hello, how talented are you man?!) as well as doing her own hair and makeup (again – stahhhp, too good!) before donning her Ivy & Aster wedding dress. David killed the dapper look with his Gary Franzen Custom Clothing Suit – if there is ever a time to have your cuffs and jacket embrioidered subtly with your name then it is your goddam wedding day, right?
After a beautiful first look it was over to Jennifer Buchan Humanist Celebrant to carry out the legal ceremony – yet another utterly, utterly perfect ceremony hen. You KNOW we love you :) Then? We adventured all over the grounds with the happy newlyweds, finishing with a first dance in the woods. Perfect :)
Kate also had this wee gem of advice for future couples planning to elope…
“There are always going to be things that are out of your control, but just focus on marrying your love and relax. It’ll allow you to embrace all the positive feelings of the day!”
So without further ado – Kate and David’s gorgeous Ardanaiseig elopement…
Kate has the following advice for planning your own Ardanaiseig elopement;
“Our marriage schedule paperwork got held up in Glasgow and didn’t reach the Oban register as expected. We were a bit wrecked after we got the email from the registrar’s office, so give yourself enough time with the logistics if you’re planning from abroad! Check in via email and make enquiries about if things are received, that’s what saved us! The gal at the office was AMAZING and was able to accommodate us through scanned emails and such since we had communicated with her from the start :)”
